The SCCA has everything you’ll need to know on their website, and it’s all included on our Links page.
Please contact us if we can help. We know all the right people that can help make the process much less mysterious.
The first two steps towards your competition license are:
1. You need a medical form signed within six months of your application
2. You need to become a SCCA member
The SCCA also accepts licenses from other racing organizations to participate in Regional races.
Moving Up to Majors
To compete in SCCA Majors — including the Hoosier Super Tour — each driver must have a Full Competition License. If you already have a license from another racing club or organization, the process is much easier as your prior qualifications are considered. To learn more about this, you will contact a Divisional Licensing Administrator and share your racing resume.
Another valid option that many choose is to attend a private driver’s school. Advantages there are that the school supplies the car, and often several of varied performance types as you go through the course and build skills. They also typically have full-time driving instructors of often professional credentials, all offering a more dialed-in experience and sometimes deeper education.
